A Journey into Snowmobiling Stories
Kemijärvi, the snowmobiling capital, wants to offer you an unforgettable experience into the history of snowmobiling through the Kemijärvi Motor Club. You will get to explore the equipment, events, and stories of both the development of snowmobiles and racing with them. On offer is a cross-section from skis to the wonders of modern electric snowmobiling. You can explore inventions and get to experience what it would have felt like to be an enthusiast back in the day, after the era of the horse. When the machines became more common, people also wanted to race with them. We will show, through pictures, equipment, and stories, the different disciplines and machines of snowmobile racing events.
In the chainsaw section, you can explore a range of tools spanning from the traditional bow saw to motorized felling equipment—a collection of around 400 chainsaws. Among them are the saws used by one’s father, grandfather, and even great-grandfather. Here, you can also pause to see how snowmobiling has evolved over the decades.

Kemijärvi Motor Club
Kemijärvi Motor Club Was founded in 1975.
From the very beginning, the club's goal has been to organize snowmobile and motorcycle races. In recent years, activities have focused on snowmobile racing in both winter and summer. Riders from the Kemijärvi Motor Club have achieved great success in national series, winning both Finnish and European championship medals.
